Co-efficient of performance
Skyline Energy are experts in solar hot
water.
We compared the efficiency and performance specifications
of various solar hot water systems, and found that our "21st
Century" units offer the best overall performance in
most situations.
The Coefficient of Performance (COP) is simply a way of measuring
the efficiency of something. Usually expressed as a percentage,
it states the amount of consumption compared to the effect
produced.
Conventional Natural GAS, LPG, & Electric Element water
heaters (including the electric-booster elements in flat-plate
solar units) only return approximately 70-90% of the energy
consumed, as water-heating energy. (the performance of gas
systems reduces still further as they age)
At 30oC, the 264-SS/327-SS provides up to
7kw of heat energy from 1.3kw of electricity;
| 500%+
efficiency | a C.O.P. of 5+ |
The COP at 0oC air temp. is approx 1.7 (170%), but at 30oC it can rise to
over 5 (500%)
Our systems consume less energy than traditional solar-boosted systems
