Solar Rebate - take advantage while its there!

Solar hot water rebates are available to encourage you to act responsibly and make sustainable choices to create lower emissions, not to supplement a lower running cost HWS for you!. (that's a bonus!).
Laws are being changed gradually to take those choices away from you, and once that happens there will be no need for rebate encouragements. Off-peak electricity is being phased out, and standard electric element hot water units are being banned.
We've seen our domestic solar rebates reduce from $4000 to $2000 in the last 12 months - there's not much time left to take advantage.

The Sun heats the earth, the earth heats the atmosphere.

Our unique air sourced heat pump systems harvest that heat and transfer it to water in an ingenious and ecological way.

Our systems therefore carry substantial Government solar rebates

There are several rebates available:

Two are national rebates, and the others are State and some local rebates. Not all states currently offer rebates!.

RECs (National) - Available for ALL installations

The national REC's Renewable Energy Certificate rebate differs on Model, Location, & Market Forces

  • The RECs rebate is NOT government funded, only government monitored and controlled
  • Taxpayers do not pay directly for the RECs rebates
  • RECs are bought mostly by electricity companies in lieu of providing solar/wind power
  • The RECs system was introduced by the Howard Government not the Rudd Government

The actual monetary value of the rebate depends on the Zone (see map below), amount of electricity your heat-pump water heater will save (quantity of RECs) and the value of each REC which is subject to supply and demand fluctuations. A buyer of our heat-pump water heaters can choose to sell/reassign their RECs at any time within 12 months of issue.

The number of RECs and therefore the actual amount of your rebate will depend on the temperature zone in which your water heater is installed, and the conditions under which it is installed.

Federal (National) Rebate - replacing existing electric:

The Federal Government revised Renewable Energy Bonus Scheme now offers a greatly reduced rebate of up to $600 on heat pump systems for homeowners replacing existing electric storage hot water systems. (This rebate is not available if the Home Insulation Rebate has already been claimed)

Program guidelines for the Renewable Energy Bonus Scheme will be available shortly. If you need further information you can phone 1800 808 571, or visit: http://www.livinggreener.gov.au/rebates-assistance/victoria/solar-hot-water-rebate.html.

State Rebates:

Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs)   The VEECs rebate is available in addition to the RECs and Federal rebates. VEECs are available for heat pumps replacing less efficient water heaters in permanently occupied residential premises. The program is managed by the Essential Service Commission (ESC), a Department within the Victorian Government.
