Mr Wayne Prosser of Laughing Cow dairy in Harden NSW, knows a good deal when he see’s one! He recently bought and installed an SK-3 commercial heat-pump system from Skyline Energy to pre-heat line flushing water, replacing an LPG heater. The commercial unit heats 300Lt’s per hour from 15C to 60C, using only 25% of the electricity that an electric heater would use. On a hot day, the recovery rate could rise to over 400Lt/hr for the same electricity use. (additional units and/or storage tanks can be configured for any water heating demand)
Wayne fully appreciates the advantages of heat-pump technology:
He and his extended family have also bought six of our 327-SS domestic model solar heat-pump hot water systems, to replace their existing domestic off-peak electric units on their houses.

Martin Boyd (and Alex) VIC. - 264-SS
I had a 264-SS Heat Pump supplied and installed by Skyline Energy about 12 months and I am very happy with it. I would recommend anyone considering changing over to solar hot water to seriously consider heat pumps. I live in the hills about an hour out of Melbourne and winters can get pretty chilly but my heat pump can extract warmth from the surrounding air even on the chilliest days. This is the one major advantage heat pumps have over solar panels. Solar panels only work when the sun is out but heat pumps work both day and night. Cheers.
Home Hydronic Heating System SK20
In fact we were so impressed with Skyline Energy we are in the process of getting a hydronic radiator home heating system installed, based on their hydronic heat pump!
Gerald & Helen Daly, VIC. - 327-SS
We're a family of 5 in country Victoria and have had our 327-SS put in about 12months ago. We really noticed a big reduction in our overall household electricity bills when we changed from the old electric unit. On the day it was put in Skyline Energy said it would take approx. 3 1/2hrs to heat the full tank, and thats exactly how long it took. With all the rebates we got back too, we are very happy with the system.
Dominic - Melbourne, VIC
The Solarstream has performed perfectly. In both hot and cold weather it has produced all the hot water we need and we have never run out.
We have achieved a noticeable saving in electrical power consumption… compared to usage with the old twin-element electric unit that we ran constantly on 'boost'.
Bob - Perth WA
I recently had to change over my old electric hot water system because it had reached the end of its life and after doing lots of research decided on a 327-SS. The fact that it can be run off-peak and can run at such a wide temperature range were really the deciding factors for me. So far we have had it installed for 6 months and we never have to think about our hot water anymore. It’s just there whenever we need it. I don’t think you can ask for more than that from your hot water system.
Trevor - Sunshine Coast QLD
Even though we get lots of sunshine up here and our nights rarely get down to zero, we decided on a heat pump water heater rather than solar panels because the heat pumps seemed more efficient and less expensive, and a lot easier to install. It only took our plumber 4 hours to swap over our systems and get our 327-SS up and running. We have put the tank inside our laundry area and the outdoor unit sits outside round the back, so that even when it runs at night we can't hear it.
We think we made the right decision to go with a heat pump and have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone contemplating the same choice between solar panels or a heat pump system.
Mr Hopkins - Newcastle NSW
We are very happy that we chose your heat pump, it serves our needs very well in keeping us supplied with hot water, friends we have shown the heater to commented, that it was attractive compared to other units on the market and after explaining other qualities and materials within the unit they had to agree that it was of superior quality.
Terry - Hornsby NSW
We have had our 327-SS installed for over a year now and we are very happy with it. We have the Solarstream connected to Offpeak 2 power, and the energy bills are really low. The heat pump outdoor unit is sited under the house with a 9 metre extension to the Tank, and we very rarely hear it operating. Over the 2009 Christmas period we had 12 people staying with us and had regular trips to the beach so everyone was having multiple showers during the day and we never ran out of hot water.
